Being Wired or Being Tired: 10 Ways to Cope with Information Overload
I recently published a lengthy article in the UK open access journal Ariadne entitled "Being Wired or Being Tired: 10 Ways to Cope with Information Overload." Enjoy! The journal also has an excellent article promoting the option of allowing employees to telecommute (e.g. "work from home" for those unfamiliar with the term). Studies show that employees actually are more productive per hour and put in more hours when they work from home. I can attest to that - telecommuting has always worked out well for me and I find it to be a mainstay in what makes me able to do my job well.
By the by, I'm starting to schedule presentations across the country about coping with information overload. Let me know if you're interested. I'm happy to hold webcasts too - as that is often easier for all involved.

Oh, my, do I need this reminder, especially now that the mad rush of school starting is winding down but I'm still in that work work work mode. I took your comment about tapping away instead of sidling up to my hon and posted it at the top of my sidebar!
One other tip I would add to your list about printed materials... I pick up my mail (home or school) and sort through it right by the recycle bin, before I go to my desk or in the house. I loose at least 1/2 of my inbox junk that way!
Now, for that movie...
