Snap Links is back in business
I lost some of my favorite add-ons with the installation of Firefox 3. And as much as I love the improvements to Firefox itself, I miss my old add-ons. The one that I missed the most was Snap Links (allowing you to right click and draw a box around hyperlinks, opening them all simultaneously in new tabs). I did a simple web search in my angst this morning just to see if there was a proposed date for a fix and found that if you install the old version of Snap Links (v. 0.0.4), it still works! So if you miss it, just download the 0.0.4 version from the Version History page.

Hi, I find the new version here:
http://snaplinks.mozdev.org/
and it works well with Firefox 3.0~3.0+.

Hmm, it worked for me just fine! I don't know how to explain that...

It is possible to re-enable a lot of the old Firefox extensions if you tell FF to stop checking compatibility:
http://lifehacker.com/355973/make-your-extensions-work-with-the-firefox-3-beta
As that article makes clear, this isn't guaranteed to work with every extension. Back in the 3 Beta days, turning checkcompatibility off ended up causing the old Google Toolbar to crash the browser. But it will work for a lot of extensions. Probably not for everyone, but if you're feeling adventurous...

I tried this, because I really miss it too, but all I get is a message saying it failed, because it's not compatible! I think I'm going to go and kick the Snap Links creator into doing something!
