Five-part series of web resources for students

The first in a five part joint series in honor of Student Productivity Week, "Beyond Wikipedia: 20 References You Can’t Do Without," was posted on the Scholastici.us blog.  Most of these are sources reference librarians will be readily familiar with, but you might find one or two you'd like to add to your bookmarks.

Part two: Books on the Web, links to a few eBook collections.

Part three: The Full System - Note Taking, Scheduling, and Studying

Part four: The 10 Best Facebook Apps for Students and 3 to Avoid (including a link to the application Ask Questions, Get Answers, a way to get answers to any question posed--sound familiar?  By the by, one of the "avoid" apps is Vampires, one of my favorite time-wasters, especially when I am angry and want to beat somebody up...I get to do it with my powerful vamp girl.)

Part five: 6 Facebook Apps for Students (and everyone else!)

I'd say avoid Pets as well. Oddly addictive for not having all of that much yet, but there's something about levelling up little bunny rabbit fighters in combat against evil monsters ... And there is promise of the application's expanding. Not being a sociable sort, I found Vampires (and its ilk) very easy to avoid: not much you can do if you have only a handful of friends; most of them at the office, in any case, and you REALLY don't want to start engaging in anything major that's too obviously non-work related ...
