RSS helps you get money back from Amazon on items you've purchased
If you're an Amazon junkie like I am (my Visa is an Amazon one for jeeber's sake), this might interest you. There's a tool called RSStalker that lets you track price changes on Amazon by RSS. You can have feeds for your entire wishlist or a specific item. Sweet! How is this helpful, beyond watching for a price to lower so you can snap up an item cheaply (if you're willing to wait)? As the RSStalker site says:
Amazon.com doesn't advertise it, but they have a 30 day price drop policy. If you bought something from them and they lower the price within 30 days, just fill out a form and they'll refund you the difference.
Well, heck, I didn't know that. And I buy a lot from Amazon. So, each time I buy something (especially the bigger purchases), I can just add a feed to my aggregator and see if I can get money back. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am, like many of my peers, a penny-pinching librarian. What a nice way to feed that inner demon.

I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of this nifty service. I purchase lots of things from Amazon (two days ago: web cam and a pineapple slicer/corer) and this service looks promising. Thanks for reminding me about it. And for your blog as well. Even though I read it in my Google Reader I rarely get to visit your site to say, Thank You. So, Thank You!
