Free marketing kit from Proquest

ProQuest is offering a free marketing kit to all public libraries.  The kit includes a number of things, like:

  • a how-to guide for marketing online resources
  • patron-friendly language for database naming
  • customizable flyer and press release
  • and more

Well worth the perusal, particularly for public libraries that lack a marketing department or staff person (which is umm, 99% of us).  Usually I'm quite skeptical when a vendor comes out with free promotional materials; they're usually labeled with the vendor's logo and geared toward that company's products.  But this package is useful, generic, well-worded, and quite appropriate for public libraries of all sizes.  Have at it!
