CLA 2006: What's Hot in Technology

This morning, Scott Bauer, Michael Porter, and I gave our session: What's Hot in Technology.  The session had two presentations, both of which are linked below for your post-session viewing pleasure:

  1. A Gadget slide show PPT (with music if you were there live with us!)
  2. Official What's Hot in Technology slide show PPT (large file)

I extend my sincere apologies to all the people who were unable to make it into our session due to a lack of space.  Last year we had well over 200 people attend, with a hundred or so others being refused entry due to the fire code.  And for some reason this year we were put in a room with a max capacity of 53.  As a result, a few hundred people were turned away at the door for our session.   Scott, Michael, and I wish you all could have been there with us, but since you couldn't, we hope our slides will at least give you the information you missed.

Wow. What a planning snafu. What do you think the problem was?

I've been given three different excuses about why this happened, but the story at the end of the day is that somebody screwed up. Hopefully this can be a learning experience, and future sessions that we know are popular will have enough room for all attendees.
