IL2006: Some Pricey WiFi
I have not yet been able to get the "free" wifi to work anywhere in the conference center. Most definitely not in the conference rooms themselves (where it would be most helpful) and not in the Bloggers Lounge, though others have sworn they were able to get on. What I keep seeing when I try to connect is the conference room fees for wireless access (seen below).
Yeah, so at $300 a day I think I'll just wait for my $9.95/night ethernet connection in the room.

Christine,
Please do tell me all about the $37 hotel room in Monterey. I love Monterey, but it is too pricey to visit often, I thought.
What is the name of the hotel? Was it nice or was it gross? If the hotel is merely ugly and outdated, I can stand it, but dirty and bug-infested would bother me.
P.S. I am new here.

IL in London a couple of weeks ago was 8 pounds a day, and thought that was absurdly high for something I regarded an obvious IL feature...

My umm .. frugal ... hotel room ($37 a night in Montery!) offered free and pretty fast wifi. I also took a screenshot of the conference room fees and posted it on my personal blog. I wonder how many people did likewise?

P.S. P.S. P.S.
Oh, and then someone told me you could just take your laptop to the lobby and connect via wifi - free - not advertised of course.

SHEESH! And I thought $10 a day at JCLC in Dallas TX was too much to fork over ...
