Meebo takes notice of librarians

The Meebo blog recently included a post about the extremely warm reception that their latest widget, MeeboMe, has received.  For those of you who missed my and others' posts about MeeboMe, it's a tiny snippet of code that lets you put an IM box on your webpage through which anyone can anonymously IM you.  No software, no downoads, no accounts...free IMing through your website.

Well, in Meebo's post, they remark upon librarians' use of the widget:

We’ve also heard of librarians who are embedding meebo me on their library sites in order to let patrons ask reference questions…whoa!

Hee hee!  We got a "whoa" :)
