Kid-Friendly Fonts
Looking for some FREE kid-friendly fonts to advertise some of your summer reading programs or booklists? Check out Fonts for Kids, a site devoted to, umm...yeah. You get the picture. They've even got a font that looks like little M&Ms... A lot of these fonts would be useful for any audience, not just kids. Take a gander and download a few. If you don't know how to download fonts to your computer, it's easy. If you're using Windows, here's how:
The file you download from the site (simply by clicking on the font you want) will be a .zip file, so save it to your desktop. Then once it's saved there. Double-click and extract the file to the following path: C:\Windows\Fonts\ Then the new fonts will automatically show up in Word, Publisher, or whatever other program you're using your fonts!

Many of these are avaliable free from other sites too. How on earth are you supposed to find the CR holder if you did want to publish?

Our use is not commercial either, which seems to be the target of that FAQ. One could contact the copyright owner, to be on the safe side, but it looks like we're well within the realm of fair use here. Is Mary Minow listening? Perhaps she has an idea...

Under the FAQ, it says the fonts are free for personal use. It also says that each is copyrighted, and that the creater must be contacted for use other than personal. So, I don't believe these fonts are appropriate for library use, without receiving permission from the copyright holder.
