Tech Support Thanksgiving

Going home to visit the parents for Thanksgiving?  Watch out!  Newsweek has an article re-labeling Gens X & Y as the "Tech Support Generation."  From the article:

Next week, millions of college students and young professionals will head home for the Thanksgiving holidays. We’ll sit with our families in warm, candle-lit dining rooms eating stuffed turkey, reminiscing over old photographs, preparing holiday shopping lists and … Please. Let’s be frank. We are going home to fix our parents' computers.

Sound familar?  If so, follow the thread on Slashdot as the "TSGers" discuss what patches, anti-spyware programs, and plug-ins they are installing on their parents' computers.  Fortunately, LiB is staying home in NoCal for Thanksgiving this year, but come late December she'll be there, in northern Illinois, beefing up the parents' PC.
