California Native American Tribes

San Diego State University has produced an online dictionary of California Indians & Their Reservations. I'm fairly sure that "Native Americans" is the correct term, but whatever. It's a good resource. You can look tribes up alphabetically and there's also a map of reservations in California. In my time on the reference desk, I've had a surprising number of kids doing reports on local Native American tribes (some very obscure & hard to find information about). I think this would be a good place to start. For many of the mid-sized tribes, not only do you get a geographical location for the tribe, but a brief history and links to other websites with additional resources.

I was just looking to see of any tribes in the San Fransisco Bay area?!? If there is any way that you could send me some information regarding that would be much appreciated.
