Eragon gets a script-writer

eragon.jpg LiB's favorite book of recent years, Eragon, is being made into a movie. Peter Buchman will be writng the script. Buchman wrote the script for Jurassic Park III. That particular film got really awful reviews, but Buchman has a lot of good material to work with in Eragon. Who will they cast as Eragon himself, do you think? My current vote is for Spencer Treat Clark (from Gladiator, Unbreakable, and Mystic River). To me, he just has the look...

There was a temporary problem with the comments and the posts in the archive not all showing up. Not sure why, but it seems to be fixed now. Let me know if it's not.

Dame c1: right now reading the Firekeeper Saga by Jane Lindskold- im on book 5 out of 6; im reading the Inheritance cycle- i've read the first 2; i'm on the 4th book in The Land of Elyon series by Patrick Carman; and im reading the sequel to the The Sight (my namesake) by David Clement-Davies.

also, i have many series @ home i want to read as well---The Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson; The Fire Within, Icefire, Fire Star, and The Fire Eternal by Chris D'Lacey; the Beka Cooper series by Tamora Pierce; the Wolfwalker series by Tara K. Harper; the Kiesha'ra series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes; the Blue Ribbon Days series by Alexandra Layos; the First North-Americans series (theres like 10-20 books) by W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal Gear; the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind; as well as several single novels. not sure if i'll ever get done, especially since my list keeps getting longer.

well my school started off nice and slow but now I have a 350 pt. reflection paper due soon for religion and a Lab Report to write for AP Bio....Spanish 3 isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be though to I can't complain too much....My religion teacher seems to be the type of teacher as long as you try to do a good job you get full credit but I don't know yet.

L.Sight: Lol! Yeah but i don't know i'd like the 3 month summer personally though the week long breaks are slightly refreshing.
Good luck with all your papers, i've got major work to be doing as well. Tres depressing as its only my first week back!

Posted by: Queen Angel | September14, 2008

i guess i spoke 2 soon. i've got a rough draft for an english paper due monday, a Wildlife Management quiz monday, a Genetics test tuesday, and an Anatomy test wednesday--which will be difficult sich classes r shortened that day for early-release. and, i gotta work saturday and sunday night, which will cut back my study time. ugh.

how is school going for everyone else?

LiB: ur not in college still, r u?

Posted by: Lord Sight | September11, 2008

queen angel: well, id like the week-long breaks every few weeks, but i think id miss my 3 month-long summer break! lol

well, i guess i should have kept my big mouth shut. we've started our first major paper in my english comp class, although all in all it's really not gonna be that bad. however, im starting to struggle a little in my genetics class. we're learning cell structures, which i was supposed to learn in biology, but the teacher i had didnt go over them that much...although i dont think he was supposed to any ways. i need to go in and talk to my teacher tomorrow, maybe she can clear things up a bit.

Posted by: Lord Sight | September 9, 2008

Dame C1: Yeah we have six weeks of school, 1 week holiday another 6 weeks and then a 2 week holiday, up till summer where we have 5 & 1/2 (sometimes 6) weeks holiday.

Lord Sight: Yeah, it's well boring in school, just work luckily nothings kick off big time yet.

Posted by: Queen Angel | September 8, 2008

Dame c1: exactly. :D

Queen Angel: nope. its been pretty boring really. i haven't had more than 5-10 minutes of homework to do @ one time, and thats only happened like 2x. i figured i would be pelted with homework, but its been more of the exact opposite. not that im complaining or anything! XD

Posted by: Lord Sight | September 4, 2008

Q. Angel: but in England schools run for sumthin like 5 weeks then you have holiday right?

L.Sight: I guess It could be, it sounds kinda wierd and unexpected.

18 more days!!!!! (the book comes out%Pr

Posted by: Dame c1 | September 3, 2008

Well done L.Sight! is it hard?
my school hasnt started yet sill have about 5 days left. been so busy with everything and now have to cram all the rest of work!! argghh.

27 more days till what D.c1?

Posted by: Queen Angel | August29, 2008

geez, i thought our school was weird for starting on a wednesday, but urs starts on a tuesday? O_O

idk, i was thinking of like special knowledge er sumfin.

Posted by: Lord Sight | August28, 2008

My school doesn't start till tomorrow!!! haha!!! I don't wanna go back but I can't wait to see everybody again....why do they make these things so complicated

Anyway here's somthing I said a while ago that somehow didn't post: What type of things would blade be a metaphor for maybe a sharp tounge but how do you find that under a tree and how would that help against Galbatorix?

27 more days!

Posted by: Dame c1 | August25, 2008

i has officially survived my first 3 days as a high school senior!!!

Posted by: Lord Sight | August23, 2008

But what type of things would it be referencing.....sometimes you hear about a sharp tounge but I don't think wit is going to help him much against GBX

My school starts tues. next week I don't wanna go back...first XCC meet is Sat. though and I'm the slowest person on the team...I think I'm going to die after the first mile.

Posted by: Dame c1 | August20, 2008

or perhaps "blade" is a metaphor for something?

Posted by: Lord Sight | August17, 2008

What if the weapon under the Menoa (is that the right name?) tree isn't really a blade of some sort but something else like and animal of some sort?

Posted by: Dame c1 | August17, 2008

Azzan: you might also be able to look on youtube

Posted by: Lord Sight | August14, 2008

werecat would be cool

Azzan: yes Eragon is out search eragon on imdb.com and you should find a tralier

Posted by: Dame c1 | August13, 2008

or maybe he woul kill him off, and magically bring him and saphira back to life with the power of a certain werecat..... 0.o

Posted by: Lord Sight | August 8, 2008

lol, I didn't mean Eragon will die. I asked WHO do you think will die. I don't think Christopher would kill off Eragon anyway.

Posted by: Chelsea | August 7, 2008

i would say roran will probably be the one to die, to kind of add a twist to the book, or maybe even arya. itll probably be the person you least expect. perhaps either arya or roran's death would cause eragon to go into some kind of rage or something that unlocks a hidden flow if power deep within him and saphira. that would be dramatic :D

Posted by: Lord Sight | August 7, 2008

I'm sorry I meant who said Eragon was going to see a god?.......I think that Roran should die I don't like him anyway

Posted by: Dame c1 | August 7, 2008

Is the movie released yet and where i can find the trailer

Posted by: Azzan | August 7, 2008

Brom being Eragon's father is way to predicted I'd like to think it's something different like their is some betrayal b/w Morzan and Galbatorix that we don't know about yet that Blagden is really alluding to.

Who said eragon's gonna die?

I GOT TO SEE TOBYMAC AND IT WAS AMAZING!!!!

Posted by: Dame c1 | August 6, 2008

Yeah, but I was just wondering if any of you guys thought differently because a lot of people on other sights are coming up with...uhhh...weird things lol.

Yeah my library waits are a long wait too. I have a friend that works at the bookstore and she's working the morning this comes out. So when I'm there bright and early, money in hand, she'll be holding it out to me with a bright shiny smile. =)

Anyone have any guesses for the God Eragon will meet or who's gonna die?

Posted by: Chelsea | August 6, 2008

dame c1: yah, last time i waited 3 months for a library copy and never got it D:

Chelsea: actually, i think u probaby hit the nail on the head

Posted by: Lord Sight | August 5, 2008

So does anyone have any different explanatios for Blagden's riddle other than that Brom might be Eragon's father?

Posted by: Chelsea | August 2, 2008

Or they just invented this thing called a library! you could borrow it there, course then you'd have to wait awhile.....yeah ALAS is prolly smarter

Posted by: dame c1 | August 1, 2008

me 2, although im lazy and half-way broke cause of the cost of gas D: so ill probably end up just borrowing it from ALAS like i did with the other 2.

Posted by: Lord Sight | July31, 2008

So I wonder what they're going to to about Eragon and Eldest that both say Inheritance Trilogy on them.....we should sue them for fun cause w/ the way our court system works we'd prolly win, Oh well I'm still excited that the 3rd one is coming out soon

Posted by: Dame c1 | July30, 2008

Posted by: Dame c1 | July30, 2008

Dame c1: well, their calling it the "Inheritance Cycle" now instead of the inheritance trilogy. there is definately going to be a fourth book, but i dont know if there are any plans for any further extention.

Posted by: Lord Sight | July29, 2008

L. Sight: I think it starts the 25th but i'm not sure I'll figure it out like 2 days before. We have early dismissal the first wed. of every month so that the teachers can have a meeting. and no I can't say i've ever heard of Shinedown

So they're not even sure it's going to be a quartet as apposed to a trilogy?

Posted by: Dame c1 | July28, 2008

does anyone here listen to Shinedown?

Posted by: Lord Sight | July27, 2008

LiB: thanks! and sorry
